Daycare

Program Description
 

The child care program is an extension of the existing school program in which children remain after school and continue to receive a developmentally appropriate program and opportunities to participate in group activities. These activities include but are not limited to: homework help, dance, art and physical education.

The program will serve children from kindergarten through eighth grades who are enrolled in Pacheco Union  School District attendance area.

The Child Care Program will operate from approximately 
Monday 12:30 -6:00 P.M. 
Tuesday through Friday1:45 to 6:00 P.M.

The program will not operate on weekends, holidays, and summer months.

 

Enrollment

Enrollment will be on a first-come-first-served basis. You may contact the Prairie office at 365-1801 for enrollment information. You may enroll your child between 1:50 and 6:00 P.M.  in the child care room. The child care Tech. will contact you when openings are available in the program.

To enroll your student in the daycare program prior to beginning of school, please contact the school office.

 

Days Open/Closed

Child care will be provided the first day of school until the last day of school. 

Child care will not be provided on the following dates:
Labor Day

Veterans Day

Thanksgiving

Winter Break

Martin Luther King Day

Lincoln’s Day

Washington’s Day

Spring Holiday

Memorial Day

 

Cost

The cost for this service is $3.50 per hour/per child, not to exceed $20.00 per day per child. A minimum of 1 hour will be charged. A 25% discount for additional siblings will be given. There will be an additional charge of $1.00 per minute if a child is not picked up by 6:00 P.M. except in the case of an emergency. There will be a $25 charge for any returned checks.

 

Billing Procedures

Bills will be generated monthly

Payment of fees maybe paid weekly or in advance.

Payment is due on the 15th day of the month.

Fees are to be paid at the Child Care Program or Prairie School's office.

Parents whose children remain past 6:00 P.M.. must pay an overtime fee before the child returns to the program. The program, which is self-supporting, requires a regular payment and the district reserves the right to cancel participation for non-payment.

 

 Parent Agreement

  • My child is not allowed to come and go freely from the child care site.

  • My child must be signed out each day by myself or an authorized person.

  • I must maintain communication with the child care aide about my child and keep him/her informed of any pertinent changes.

  • I must notify the child care aide in writing of any daily departure changes.

  • I must contact the child care program when my child will be absent on a scheduled day. I realize this is for my child’s protection.

  • If a medical emergency arises, the child care program will first attempt to contact me. If the emergency is such that immediate hospital attention is necessary, the school and child care staff may call emergency services or may take my child to the hospital or emergency care facility. I will be responsible for all costs incurred.
